I’ve been pondering on a small problem over the past couple of months. By a small problem I mean since the first bulbs burst into bloom back in March, small pieces of various plants have slowly… and now more rapidly disappeared! What can it be?!
I’ve concluded that I’ve probably got at least 3 raiders:
- Slugs and Snails
- Leaf Cutter Bees
This definitely must be from a not so friendly mollusc.
My poor Cosmos was totally destroyed by ants following an aphid infestation.
I can find neither caterpillars or eggs so this again could be the crafty work of the above two.
And perhaps these semi-circular holes are the work of the solitary bee we have nesting in our bee hotel at the moment!
I guess it’s a sign of a successful eco system really. That’s what I keep telling myself anyway!
